Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we work with some insurance carriers, unfortunately not all, but our memberships fit into most budgets even if we do not take your insurance.

No. All of our trainers have either bachelors or masters degrees in exercise science but have worked in clinical exercise settings like physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and pulmonary rehabilitaion and hold many certifications making them experts in working with adults over 60.

Although you will be working out amongst 10-12 other members, each member works on their own program while being supervised by our exercise physiologists. It’s a great opportunity to meet other like minded individuals and make each of your sessions a great time!

Unfortunately no but for a very good reason! Having our members make appointments allows our gyms to stay on the quieter side for a more personal experience. We’ve also found that making appointments is a great way to hold our members accountable which is what most of them want! If there’s ever a day you’re not scheduled for but would like to come in, just give us a call and we’ll get you set for an appointment that day!

The gym is open Monday through Friday and you are welcome to come as many times as you would like! Majority of our members feel comfortable with sticking to 3 sessions per week but you are not limited to just that. We can help you set up a good routine if you’re wanting to come in more!

A little bit of everything! We have a wide variety of different machines, free weights, ropes, bands and cardio equipment. Anything you would find at a larger gym, we will have here. We are also equipped with similar things you’d find in a PT/OT office as a lot of our members come to us post PT/OT and want to continue on with their healing journey!

We create your own individualized program by an assessment done by one of our exercise physiologists. During the evaluation we will work with our members to see where they’re currently at as far as their strength, balance, stamina, endurance, etc. Other important information we look for is orthopedic concerns and goals you’re looking to accomplish! Once we have gathered all of this information, we are then able to create your program!

We have an option to freeze your account. For any reason at all, our members are given the option to freeze their account if they will be away for longer than 2 weeks. So no need to worry about being charged during a time you cannot make it to some of your appointments!

You are not alone! A lot of our members are new to the “exercise” scene! The amazing part about Joint Effort is the fact that you don’t have to do it alone! Between the guidance of the Exercise Physiologists and the new friends you’ll meet along the way, you’ll forget you never exercised before! No matter how long it takes for you to become comfortable, we will be there with you all along the way!

We modify! If you find yourself with a new ailment, we will modify your program to fit your new needs. We will remove the current exercises that may inflame, trigger or irritate the affected area and replace them with new movements to ensure you’re still getting your exercise in without the fear of harming yourself more.

Yes! After you have completed your program, we will schedule you for a revision. During the revision, the exercise physiologist will retest you on the same things you went through during your initial evaluation. We are able to see the progress you have made over the past couple of months and rewrite you a new program with new exercises! The best part about this is seeing your new results compared to when you started!
