My good friend and long time member of Joint Effort, Deb Hull, reached out to me
JUST TEN DAYS AGO asking if we could do a food drive at Joint Effort to help fill the food pantries during this time of need and uncertainty.
I’ll have to be honest, and I am embarrassed to say this, but my first response to it was something along the lines of…
“Deb, I would LOVE to but I am so overwhelmed with life right now between the businesses, kids, coaching sports, and some family stuff, that I don’t think I can put as much energy as I would like to into it. We can certainly be used as drop off spots on the weekends but I am embarrassed to say I am over my head right now and can’t think about anything else.”
Despite this being the reality, it really bothered me to respond this way so the next day I thought to myself…
“One email…”
”All I have to do is send ONE EMAIL and I know my amazing team and members will make this a HUGE success.”

Well…
I was right!
Within HOURS of that email going out the following day, members were pouring into the center with donations, and within seven days…
Well, you’ll see…
Not only that, both members and staff IMMEDIATELY started volunteering to fill their cars and trucks when needed to transport the food to the local pantries, or do whatever they could to help.
Am I overwhelmed and overjoyed with the response to this?
Yes!
Am I surprised?
Not a bit…
We have the absolute BEST members and team at Joint Effort and I am SO, SO LUCKY!

I am literally choking up right now thinking about how blessed I am to have such wonderful people around me that are willing to donate their time, energy, and money to those in need and couldn’t be more grateful to each and every one of you who helped to make this such a tremendous success!

We are doing EIGHT FULL CAR / TRUCK LOADS to local food pantries today because of Deb’s big heart and idea, and all of your love and effort.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Thank you again!
George
