  • Clinical Exercise Physiologist/Manager

My name is Katrina Cordeiro and I was born and raised in Groton, CT!

I went to Southern Connecticut State University where I studied Exercise Science and concentrated on Human Performance. Once I finished my studies at Southern, I continued on and got my Graduate degree from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. At ESU, I got my Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

I currently have my AED/CPR certification as well as my ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support). I am always looking to continue my education because there is always more to learn when it comes to the human body.

I’ve attended numerous conferences including seminars through ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and FAI (Functional Aging Institute) where they hold many discussions about the new growth and findings of exercise. The Exercise Science field is ever growing and I am determined to continue teaching and showing others how important it is for us to keep our bodies moving!

There are many different activities I love doing outside of working at Joint Effort. I’ve always been a very active person so I barely find myself able to sit still. Running half marathons has become quite the spotlight in my life but I also enjoy boxing, and horseback riding.

When I finally allow myself to relax, I love going to the beaches in Rhode Island and reading a good book; I enjoy re-reading Harry Potter books! I also enjoy spending time with my family and wonderful boyfriend Joseph. Family comes first so I try to spend as much time with my parents and sister as I can.

Exercise is medicine so let’s keep on moving!
